7. Commitments and Contingencies
Lease Commitments
We lease our facilities under an operating lease that expires in June 2021. Rent expense was $257,000, $211,000, and $209,000 for years ended December 31, 2016, 2015, and 2014, respectively. The following is a schedule of future minimum lease payments at December 31, 2016 (in thousands):
